North Creek Nurseries is a wholesale propagation nursery specializing in growing starter plants. The site comprises several greenhouses with multiple individual boiler systems on a single gas meter.
The largest site (representing 50% of the total space) was chosen to run the pilot. The site is heated by two 2.5MMBTU boilers. Heating for the other greenhouses will be compensated for in the analysis. The pilot was started in November 2018 once the heating system was restarted for the winter period.
Due to the availability of data the chosen analysis method is a direct comparison of consumption in 2018/19 with the same time period in 2017/18. Consumption will be normalized using Heating Degree Days (HDD) from the nearby Wilmington, PA weather station at a 65°F baseload.
