The performance of EndoTherm was piloted by the City of New Westminster, British Columbia at two locations: City Hall and Century House.
The install project qualified for a rebate provided by FortisBC under their natural gas utilities hydronic additive program. EndoTherm was installed in September 2022.
METHODOLOGY
The analysis methodology takes guidance from IPMVP (Option C). A baseline was created using monthly billing data collected from monthly natural gas bills dating back to October 2019. These consumption values were normalized for comparison using Heating Degree Days from nearby Pitt Meadows Coastal Station (CWMM) at a base-load of 18.5°C.
Figure 1: Baseline analysis at City Hall
The baseline review shows consumption did increase slightly due to protocols implemented as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Thus the chosen baseline takes data from October 2020 at both sites.
RESULTS
The pilots of EndoTherm were run at two locations between September 2022 and March/April 2023.

Figure 3: Comparison of Pre & Post EndoTherm consumption data normalized with Heating Degree Days at Century House
The pilots were run for 7-8 months between October 2022 and April 2023. City Hall showed a 7.86% reduction in natural gas consumption (153GJ). This is 9.83% once a 20% DHW base-load has been removed as EndoTherm does not impact DHW consumption.
Century House showed a 9.56% improvement (115GJ) which is 11.94% once the 20% base-load is removed.

Carbon Reduction Equivalents:
The reduction in natural gas consumption provides a direct reduction in the building’s greenhouse gas emissions. As a results of the gas savings the pilots achieved a 13,500kg reduction in GHG emissions which is equivalent to:
