The performance of EndoTherm was piloted by East Irondequoit School District at Helendale Road Primary School in Rochester, New York. EndoTherm was installed on the 31st January 2020.
The Measurement of Verification of EndoTherm was done taking guidance from the International Protocol for the Measurement & Verification of Performance (IPMVP) – Option C.
Historical consumption was provided from gas bills from December 2018 until January 2019 and normalized using heating degree days (HDD) from Greater Rochester International Airport at a base-load of 65°F.
The gas bills look at total gas consumption which includes gas used outside of the HVAC space heating system
(including DHW). It has been calculated that the base-load is roughly 25% of consumption.
The analysis of EndoTherm was undertaken for four months until the end of the 2020 heating season. For each month, the known HDD value (x) was input into the trend-line to determine a predicted consumption using the equation y=-0.0018×2 + 7.3551x.

It is believed that the gas consumption likely increased due to increased ventilation in response to COVID-19. ASHRAE guidance is to pen dampers and increase ventilation which in turn would increase the demand. This suggests that the savings could have been closer to the 15% savings found in other EndoTherm case studies.
