The performance of EndoTherm was piloted by Juniata College in two buildings to verify the energy savings claims made by the manufacturer.
EndoTherm was installed into Sherwood Hall and Tussey Terrace Halls, both college halls of residences within the college campus. A third site, Sunderland Hall was not dosed to serve as a comparison for consideration.
EndoTherm was installed in early January 2019 and the pilot ran until February 2020. In March 2020 the impact of COVID-19 saw a large reduction in consumption on all sites most likely due to a closure of the halls and change in demand settings. Thus, the pilot period is 14 months.
For each month in the post-EndoTherm period the predicted consumption will be calculated and compared with the recorded consumption from billing data. A cumulative sum (CuSum) of each month will be used to determine savings over the pilot period. Due to the low values of summer months the consumption during this time will not be considered for this pilot.

Results
Site Name | EndoTherm Present? | Saving (%) | Assumed Unit Price ($/MCF) | Saving ($) |
---|---|---|---|---|
Sherwood | Y | 14.31 | 7.21 | 1,833.548 |
Sunderland | N | -1.19 | 7.21 | -188.537 |
Tussey Terrace | Y | 15.06 | 7.21 | 3,602.272 |
The two sites with EndoTherm installed saved, on average 14.86% whilst the control site without EndoTherm saw an increase in consumption of 1.19%. We can be confident that the inclusion of EndoTherm improved efficiency at the two halls of residences since it was installed.
