The performance of EndoTherm was piloted at the Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics; an
independent research centre located in Waterloo, Ontario Canada.
The Perimeter Institute is heated by 3 x 1,999MH LAARs boilers.
An initial baseline analysis of the past three years historical billing data identified a lot of estimated bills between July 2019 and January 2020, then only estimated bills since February 2020 compounded by the impact of COVID-19.
Therefore, it was decided to take physical meter readings every week for 8 weeks to establish a baseline for comparison. Consumption data each week was normalised using Heating Degree Days (HDD) from Waterloo-Wellington International Airport, a regional airport in Waterloo, Ontario.

EndoTherm was installed, with no interruption or downtime to the heating system in operation, on the 20th January 2020 and weekly readings were taken for 6 weeks post-install.
For each week the known value for HDD (x) was input into the trend-line equation to predict consumption based on the demand profile for the 8 weeks immediately before installation:
