The performance of EndoTherm has been piloted by Vancouver International Airport (YVR) at the South Terminal.
The South Terminal services local flights and corporate charters and is heated by a 1,500mBtu Cleaver Brooks boiler.
With several years of monthly readings available the trial was based on guidance taken from the International Protocol for Measurement & Verification of Performance (IPMVP). A baseline consumption was calculated using Heating Degree Days (HDD) from the onsite weather station (baseload 18.5°C). Based on this historical data’s trend line a predicted usage was calculated each month and compared with the actual consumption.

Results
Time Period | Predicted Usage (GJ) | Actual Usage (GJ) | Saving (GJ) | CUSUM |
---|---|---|---|---|
Dec 2017 | 427.97 | 359.40 | 68.57 | 68.57 |
Jan 2018 | 325.16 | 294.20 | 57.96 | 126.53 |
Feb 2018 | 364.04 | 292.40 | 71.64 | 198.17 |
TOTAL | 1,144.17 | 946 | 198.17 |
The difference between predicted and actual consumption can be seen as a change in performance due to the introduction of the energy saving technology, EndoTherm.
