Founded in 2009, Écotech Québec is the first organization of its kind in Canada with a mission to accelerate the development, commercialization and use of Quebec’s innovative clean technologies.

Since its creation, Écotech Québec has participated in the implementation of several programs and the creation of organizations dedicated to the development and growth of the clean technology sector, both in Canada and internationally.

Every year, hundreds of organizations and businesses in Quebec acquire clean technologies. They do so to effectively meet their needs, while reducing their environmental footprint. Écotech Québec created the Eurêka awards to highlight the commitment of these organisations to a cleaner economy.

The Eurêka awards select projects that are distinguished by their innovative aspects and their potential for replicability, as well as by their contribution to the protection of the environment and the competitiveness of the organization.

The Eurêka award winning EndoTherm project was implemented at Centre de services scolaire des Bois-Francs and was conducted and submitted by EndoTherm’s Quebec partner TGWT. TGWT are leaders in green chemistry established in North America with headquarters in Longueuil, Quebec.

The project, part of a proof-of-concept showcase of EndoTherm’s energy saving performance, was undertaken at three elementary schools and encompassed energy consumption data from a further four control sites that had implemented no changes to be used as a comparison.

The three EndoTherm sites showed an average energy saving of 10.08% whilst the control sites showed an average increase in energy consumption of 2%, validating the improvement in performance provided by EndoTherm. The pilots have an expected return on investment of just 12 months.

Further details of the project can be found on the Centre de Services des Bois-Francs – Multiple sites case study page and more information on Écotech Québec and the Eurêka Awards can be found at https://www.ecotechquebec.com/.
