Endo Enterprises are delighted to announce the successful completion of its first EndoTherm pilot project in collaboration with our Korean partners and FarmHannong. The project was conducted at FarmHannong’s R&D facilities located in Nonsan-si, Chungcheongnam-do.

Why South Korea?

In the ever-evolving landscape of energy efficiency, South Korea stands out as a promising market for the launch of groundbreaking HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) technology. As the country continues to make significant strides towards sustainability and eco-friendly practices, the demand for innovative solutions is on the rise.

South Korea has been actively addressing environmental concerns and embracing sustainable practices for a number of years. The government’s commitment to reducing carbon emissions and promoting energy-efficient technologies aligns perfectly with the introduction of EndoTherm. With a growing awareness of the environmental impact of traditional heating and cooling methods, consumers are increasingly seeking greener alternatives.

Korea experiences diverse weather conditions, with hot and humid summers and cold winters. This climatic variability creates a significant demand for HVAC heating & cooling and thus a significant opportunity for technologies that can help make these HVAC systems more energy efficient. Korean is also renowned for its technological prowess and the rapid adoption of new innovations.

Korea’s government has also implemented various incentives and regulations to encourage businesses and consumers to adopt energy-efficient technologies. This favourable regulatory environment provides a significant advantage for companies entering the market with innovative solutions.

Who Are FarmHannong?

Farmhannong is a name synonymous with innovation and sustainability. Though their main focus is on R&D within the agricultural sector; their R&D facilities represented an excellent location to pilot EndoTherm to emphasis the company’s commitment to sustainable farming.

EndoTherm was installed into each R&D site in December 2022 and the winter consumption for 2023 was compared with the historical baseline of 2022. Each site is powered by LPG boilers and the locations experienced no changes in operation or occupancy over the pilot period.

The analysis after the 8-month pilot shows an average saving of 11.75% and a combined saving of 5,256,627 KRW. Thus the project paid back the initial investment within the pilot period.

The pilot also saved 6,444kg of CO2e which is equivalent to:

‘’Farmhannong were delighted to pilot EndoTherm as part of our commitment to sustainable farming. Despite initial skepticism we saw the stunning improvement in performance after a year and we believe EndoTherm will be very important to help achieve CO2 reductions.”

EES R&D Leader Euljai Myung

EndoTherm has now been installed into 3 more locations in South Korea and we look forward to future successes in the region.

“EndoTherm is now installed into HVAC systems in over 100,000 buildings in 25 countries worldwide. We welcome the opportunity to work with new companies in new countries and cultures and to take one tiny step in the global effort to improve the energy efficiency and carbon emissions of our buildings. We look forward to working with the Korean team to build on this success in the years to come”
