The leading lights of the energy efficiency industry came together on Friday 18th February 2022 at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole to celebrate the accomplishments achieved by the sector over the years 2020-21.

The goal of The National Energy Efficiency Awards is always to commend achievement and best practice within the industry, however, with the current challenges of keeping net zero goals on track post-covid and the constant rise of energy costs, recognising the tangible efforts of reducing energy usage and carbon emissions seems now more important than ever.

EndoTherm was short-listed as a finalist in the category of National Boiler & Heating Project of the Year which featured stiff competition with entries coming from both commercial and domestic energy projects.

We are very proud to share that EndoTherm achieved a third place finish for the successful delivery of a full roll-out of the energy saving additive across all of Whitbread PLC’s wet heating system sites in association with Green Earth Supplies Ltd.

Whitbread is the owner of Premier Inn, the UK’s biggest hotel brand, and their sustainability programme, ‘Force for Good’, aims to ensure they have a positive impact on the world around them. Split into three pillars; Opportunity, Community, and Responsibility, they have set long-term strategic targets and continue to evolve and innovate to face the risks and opportunities presented at this time of social and economic change.

As part of their Responsibility pillar, Whitbread have a target to become Net Zero by 2040 which means effective energy saving measures are introduced across their estate to reduce scope 1 and 2 emissions.

The energy effciency of their estate is key to driving down emissions and as part of this EndoTherm was dosed into over 400 Whitbread sites which includes well-known brands like Beefeater, Brewers Fayre in addition to Premier Inn. The project was successfully executed over three months ahead of the 2021 winter heating season to ensure savings were maximised in a timely manner.

The energy management team at Whitbread have already confirmed that year on year savings performance at sites has already shown ~10% reduction on gas use.
